PRODUCT PRESENTATION

■ FABRIC

The body is crafted from dark purple dragon-patterned jacquard satin, a fabric traditionally associated with women's Chinese qipao dresses. The sleeves feature soft, wax-finished faux leather with a structured feel, creating a contrast between the two materials.

■ FIT

The silhouette is inspired by the Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2016 Souvenir Jacket.

■ CRAFTSMANSHIP

The fabric features a subtle jacquard weaving technique traditionally used in the production of silk qipao garments, giving the dragon pattern a refined, textured appearance.

■ DESIGN CONCEPT

Hedi Slimane's Saint Laurent is known for its rebellious rock-inspired aesthetic, yet luxury is often misunderstood in the context of contemporary Chinese fashion.

This led us to explore what luxury means within traditional Chinese clothing. Inspired by the dragon-patterned satin traditionally used in qipao dresses, we reinterpreted the material through the lens of Saint Laurent's iconic rock aesthetic.

After developing the initial silhouette, we felt the jacket needed more structure and versatility for colder seasons. We introduced contrasting leather sleeves, creating a balance between traditional Asian elegance and contemporary streetwear.

The result is a fusion of Eastern heritage, Western rock culture, and modern luxury.
